Lab E is the experimental department of Evolvet. We build things that shouldn’t work yet: language models that act. Machines that listen. Software that writes itself. From the browser down to bare metal.

From the lab.

Short Way Home

A gravity puzzle built with three.js. The spaceship Pip flies on the pull of the planets, and every missed shot stays behind as a trail.

Why we built it: We wanted to know whether real 3D physics runs smoothly in the browser on a mid-range phone, with no app store, no download and no account. And whether a game can do without a single line of instructions when the failed attempts are the explanation. Yes to both. The WebGL pipeline, the level format and the trail mechanic have since become tools we reuse in client projects for visualisation and onboarding.

Kettenkraft

A tank duel with collapsing bridges and four kinds of weather. Against the CPU, two players on one device, or online without a password via a transfer code.

Why we built it: Online multiplayer is the hardest form of state synchronisation: two devices, one truth, destructible terrain that has to stay identical on both sides. We wanted to solve it without accounts, passwords or a lobby, using nothing but a code you read out to your opponent. The result is a sync and matchmaking component that now powers real-time collaboration in Evolvet projects.

Some experiments are running, some are waiting, some have failed. Everything is documented here.

A lab
needs rules.

01Every experiment starts with a question that can only be answered by building.
02What we build gets published. In the browser, on the device, in the machine. No detour via a slide deck.
03Every result is logged. Even when the answer is no.
04Whatever works flows back into Evolvet’s work. That’s why this lab exists.

Three fields, one method.

We start experimenting exactly where the limits are right now. And push them a little further. With everything that powers Evolvet: processes, software, AI, hardware.

AI

Models that act

Agents that use tools, opponents that negotiate, systems that explain their own decisions. Not as a demo, but in live operation.

{ }

Code that writes itself

How far does generated software go? We let language models build entire components and measure where humans have to step back in.

From the browser to bare metal

WebGPU in a tab, firmware on the microcontroller, agents in the operating system, sensors in the field. The platform doesn’t matter, the limit does.
